Annual Graduation Scholarship Awards
1996 to 2007
Note: In addition to the initial small cash award the people who received the following awards (after graduation from high school or over 18 years of age) are henceforth eligible if they apply in advance (agreed in writing before enrollment) of taking any single course per year (college level or performing arts school/conservatory),(in rare cases private lessons) for reimbursement of tuition fees on completion of that course in the performing arts (or that percent of performing arts full time student credit fees if tuition not itemized) as long as The Elma Children's Theater Association or Elma Theater Foundation exists.
It is recognized that these requests may be submitted after return from military duty or after dealing with any other of all of life's delays in getting to or back to continued education.
Our policy of granting 8th grade awards is based on trying to avoid the inequities of having some of our people's families move before they graduate from high school. The eighth grade award at middle schools allows tabulation of our award winner's elections synchronization with the elementary school eighth grade graduation ceremonies. Since our mission is to honor the most participation there has to be a comparison within the same number of years for all. If we had a junior high we would consider changing to 9th grade but without one there isn't any school graduation ceremony for such a presentation.
