        Ladies & Gentlemen,

 

        The Elma Theater is very proud to bring to our theater at 8:00 PM Thursday September 2, 2004, Louis Stewart, American conductor,

         composer and pianist. He will be conducting  an original composition for band and trumpet soloist (Jerry Huff) with the Washington

         State American Legion Band. This is the premier performance of this work on the West Coast.

 

        Also to be performed are other selections by the American Legion Band including some from musical theater along with tributes to our

        local armed forces members & veterans.

 

        Please  read Mr. Stewarts bio below. Note that Mr. Stewart was born and raised in Aberdeen, Washington and still has family in

  • Piano soloist with several symphony orchestras in the Boston area
  • Composer of "Landscapes of T.S. Eliot," premiered by the Chanctonberry Chorus in England, and Concertino for Piano and Band, premiered in Hingham, Massachusetts
  • Former pianist, Maryland Symphony Orchestra
  • Recipient of Meet the Composer grant for the Naked Feet Dance Company and the Baltimore Improvisation Ensemble
